DO PARENTS OR CARERS SIT IN THE SESSIONS WITH CHILDREN?

I ask that parents do not attend the sessions with children however you are welcome to stay in your car, visit the cafe or enjoy a walk around the parklands. If at the end of a session, a child wishes for their parent or carer to join us so we can pass information on, this is welcomed

I'VE NEVER HAD COUNSELLING- HOW DOES THIS WORK?!

Please don't worry, you are not alone. Counselling can feel daunting at first but we take it at your pace. If you would like a brief chat on the phone to ensure I am the right therapist for you, I am happy to arrange this.
In our first session we will ensure you are happy with our contract and complete an initial assessment which gathers a little more information about you such as emergency contacts, your address etc. For children, this first part will involve parents however I can quite often do this over the telephone

HOW IS SAFETY MANAGED WITHIN THE OFFICES OF THE BUSINESS PARK?

There is 24 hour CCTV in operation in the grounds. As well as this, there are 6 other offices in Yorkshire House alone and we share similar evening working hours

I HAVE MOBILITY PROBLEMS, WHAT IS ACCESS LIKE?

My office is on the first floor so you will need to walk up a set of stairs for office based sessions. Unfortunately there is no lift or stair lift

ARE YOU A MEMBER OF A PROFESSIONAL BODY?

Yes, I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) which is a professional association for members of the Counselling profession in the UK

WHERE DO I PARK AND WILL IT COST ME?

There is ample, free parking close to Yorkshire House. I will send you directions when we arrange our first session. If your session is starting from 6pm onwards, you will need to park in Wakefield Independent School car park... the good news is there is a gate directly opposite that leads you to Yorkshire House
